DESCRIPTION: S. Marti & Cie, Paris, France, oval crystal regulator, 8 day, time and strike, spring driven pendule de Paris movement in a gilt brass case with four curved beveled glasses, cloisonné trim in bands around the case top and bottom, dial, and on the frame of the compensating pendulum, cream colored enamel dial with Arabic numerals, gilt hands, and double-vial pendulum.
CONDITION: The case is dusty and dirty and could stand polishing, but otherwise this is a clean clock. All four curved beveled glasses are good. Well made movement with Brocot escapement between the plates has the Marti 1889 award stamp. It is also stamped "Made in France" The dial is perfect but for some very small losses along the bottom edge that have been masked with a bit of white filler. Rack and snail strike sounds on a cathedral gong. Just a bit of attention will make this a very nice clock.
